Profile and Account Details

You will need to Contact Us and tell us the reason why you need a username change.  Please select My Profile Information from the request type dropdown in the Contact Us form and write a short message, including the new username you want to use.  We will be in touch with you shortly after via email and message to your inbox regarding approval of your username change.

To change your password, select 'Initial User Registration' from the 'My Profile' dropdown.  Otherwise you can click on 'Initial Registration' when viewing your own profile.  Next, click on the pencil icon at the far right of the password field.  Then simply complete the pop-up window and the change is done.

To change your email address, select 'Initial User Registration' from the 'My Profile' dropdown.  Otherwise you can click on 'Initial Registration' when viewing your own profile.  Next, click on the pencil icon at the far right of the email address field.  Once you have supplied the information required in the pop-up window, you will then be logged out of the site and you will need to open the email we sent, and click the link to confirm your change of email address.  This will then re-activate your profile.

To hide your profile, select 'Alerts & Preferences' from the 'My Profile' dropdown.  Scroll down to the last field and select Yes to hide profile, then submit the change.

Hiding your profile means that you will not show up in any searches, so basically you cannot be found by other members, including those who may have saved you as a Friend or Favourite.  The moment you hide your profile, you effectively disappear from the site until you're ready to come back.

The Lunch Works Account Confirmation Email is sent out immediately after you register.  Please be sure to check your emails bulk or junk folders as it may have gone there.  If you didn’t receive this email it may be because you registered with an invalid email address, or you made an error.  If you attempt to log on, you will get a message advising that your email address is not confirmed.  Please Contact Us, select Account Settings from the request type dropdown and tell us your username and the email address you want to use as part of your Lunch Works account.  We will resolve the issue then contact you soon after with details on how to activate your profile and account.

In order to remove your profile we ask that you Contact Us and select Remove My Profile as the request type.  Please include a message if there is anything at all that you would like to tell us.  It is important to also remember that if you remove your profile while being a Complete Member, there are no returns on subscription fees.

For 3 months Lunch Works will keep your profile stored away in case you wish to come back.  Simply get in touch with us to re-activate it.  After 3 months we will delete your profile from the website completely.

If you have a question for us, or maybe you're experiencing a problem with the Lunch Works service, you can contact our support team simply by clicking on Contact Us.  This link can always be found for quick reference in the green toolbar near the top of the screen and just right of centre.

We have some Profile Guidelines on our site that members need to be mindful of when registering and compiling their profile.

We have a few ideas for you when it comes to writing your profile and what you should and shouldn't consider including as content.  Please refer our Profile Tips page to find out what some of these ideas and tips are.

If you want Lunch Works members to see that you are serious about meeting people and to show that the profile you have compiled is accurate, honest and who you say you are, use the Profile Verification process and we will put a unique icon on your profile for all our members to see.  Once you have a Main Profile Photo supporting your profile, you can verify yourself by clicking on the relevant option when viewing your profile in full.

Photos

There are 3 different ways you can post photos to your profile - automatic upload during registration or after logging in, electronic copy using email, or hard copy sent through the post.

You can only upload one photo at a time and it needs to be in either .jpg or jpeg format, no larger than 500kb and a minimum of 130 x 130 pixels.

To upload a photo click 'My Photos' followed by 'Add a new Photo'.  Then click 'Browse' and find the photo you want to upload.  You can also add a caption to your photo if you wish.  Click on the 'Submit' button to complete the process, then we will review the picture before posting to your profile and the site.

You can also attach your photos to an email and send them to us here at Lunch Works, otherwise send us the hard copy of your photos through the mail and we can scan them for you.  You will find all the instructions and necessary information you need when adding a photo.

Please note – all photos are submitted to us for approval and will only be visible once they have been accepted, so there will always be a delay in your photo being displayed.

You can have up to (5) photos on your profile.  You get room to store five (5) as part of your Main Profile, but only one (1) can be set as the default for display. Any other images which are saved here will be displayed within your Photo Album when viewing your profile.

Attempting to add more than (5) photos to your profile requires the deletion of existing photo/s.

As a Main Profile photo it needs to have a clear shot of your face. It can NOT include any other people, and should generally be from the shoulders up. There is also to be NO pornographic material.

Your Photo Album pictures are less restrictive and can include action shots and montages of yourself.

Please read our Photo Guidelines for detailed information and assistance.

To hide your Main Profile photo click 'My Photos' then the 'Hide my Profile Photo' button.  If you decide to hide your Main Profile photo, all your Photo Album pictures will be automatically hidden also.

To send your hidden photo you can either attach it to an Icebreaker or a Message.  You need to be a Complete member in order to send a message though.

You will have an 'Attach hidden photo' tick box that you check prior to clicking 'Send' on either the Icebreaker or Message.

We have some Photo Guidelines on our site that members need to be aware of before uploading or sending their pictures in to us.

We certainly do have some tips and ideas for you regarding photos.  Please refer our Photo Tips page.

Payments & Membership

With Lunch Works current special offer, anyone joining the site receives a complimentary upgrade to FREE Complete Membership until the end of the year.  On the 1st of January 2010 you will then revert back to a Standard Member, but you can upgrade to a Complete Member again for as little as $9.95 a month, or take out a 3 month Complete Membership for only $19.95

Please refer to our Subscription Information page for further information and details about our Complete Membership offer.

Aside from paying online with Paypal using your credit card, you can also pay by cheque, money order, direct deposit at any Commonwealth Bank or with the "pay anyone" facility using online banking.

Please refer to our Subscription Information page for further information about our address and bank details.

No.  At the moment we do not offer an Auto-Renew facility to members.  It is something we are working towards implementing in the the very near future.  We will keep members informed of any new developments as we get closer to finalising.

Refunds will not be made if you wish to cancel your membership or remove your profile during your subscription period.  Refunds will also not be made if your membership is suspended or terminated by Lunch Works due to a breach of our Terms and Conditions or any other reason.

Lunch Works has a very simple membership structure and offers 2 choices in subscribing to our service.

Standard Membership is FREE and allows you to initiate basic contact with other members through only the Icebreaker facility.

You can also upgrade to Complete Membership and have the ability to then send messages and initiate instant chat sessions with others.

If you would like to be a part of Lunch Works, we are currently offering all new members a FREE UPGRADE TO COMPLETE MEMBERSHIP. This means that if you find someone of interest on the site, you will have more than just the Free Icebreaker Facility in which to initiate contact with them. If you're serious and active in your search to meet others through Lunch Works, then the message facility is your next step at exchanging enough contact information so that you may meet offline. Otherwise you can start a live one-on-one instant with someone as another means to interacting more personally with them.

Whenever your existing Complete Membership expires your account will always revert back to a Standard Member. To become a Complete Member again you will need to renew your subscription.

If you still have any further questions about Lunch Works membership, please be sure to read About Us, otherwise Contact Us.

Icebreakers & Messages

Lunch Works Icebreakers are a FREE means of opening up the communication lines between members who are interested in each other.  When you see somebody you like and want to register your interest, go ahead and send them an Icebreaker!

Icebreakers are free for all members to send, and all members are able to reply to them for free also.  Once the reply has been sent, the Icebreaker is effectively over as you are not able to reply back again.

An added benefit to those who upgrade from a Standard to Complete Membership is the ability to add your own message to a new Icebreaker being sent.  Simply click the 'Send Icebreaker' button on the persons profile and start interacting today.

When someone has opened an Icebreaker you sent them, the icon in your Outbox will change, alerting you to the fact that your Icebreaker has been read.  This way, at least you know they did receive it and hopefully they took some time to read your profile and are thinking about their reply.

When you have received a reply and opened it, the Icebreaker icon will be greyed out so that you know it is finished and the next step is to message, initiate an instant chat or delete the Icebreaker.

Icebreakers from members who have left or been removed from the site will also be deleted.

There will be a 'Send Message' button on the persons profile.  If you are not already a Complete Member, you will be instructed to do so in order to send your message and initiate contact.

T
ype in your message and click 'Send'.

You can send messages to anybody on the Lunch Works web site that has an active (unhidden) profile.  The only exception being if another member has blocked you.

It is FREE to reply to a message for both Standard and Complete Members.

It is important to remember though that the moment the message is opened, you have exactly one month to reply.  As long as each of you remain inside the 1 month allowance for responding, you can both keep going back and forth replying to each other and it basically counts as just the one message.

When someone has opened a message you sent them, the icon in your Outbox will change, alerting you to the fact that your message has been read.  This way, at least you know they did receive it, and hopefully they took some time to read your profile and are thinking about a reply.

The Block feature can be used to stop chosen members being able to find and send you icebreakers or messages. The ‘Block’ link is found at the top of a persons profile, and has a picture of a hand.  Hovering over this icon will provide further details.

Click on the same hand icon at the top of a persons profile, just as you did when blocking them.

When members are removed from the site (voluntary or otherwise), any stored communications you have had with that person will be removed from your Inbox and Outbox for both Icebreakers and Messages.

Site Features

We have a number of options when it comes to searching for members.  You can take a simple Browse to find a broader range of people, or be more selective in your choice for a partner and try the Advance Search.  Please refer our Search screen for a full list of options with descriptions on each type.  On this page you will also find a link to each of the searches.

Lunch Works also gives you the ability to search for the perfect venue for your first date, with 3 different types of Venue Searches to choose from.

Aside from using Icebreakers and Messages to communicate with other Lunch Works members, our Instant Chat facility is another effective means to messaging.  To initiate an Instant Chat does require Complete Membership, but receiving an Instant Chat invitation from another member is free to accept.  This facility is not a chat room, therefore only you and the other member are involved, and nobody else can see the Instant Chat happening except the 2 participants.  To begin an Instant Chat you will need to click the relevant link located on a persons profile.  If you are invited to an Instant Chat, simply click the "Accept" button that appears on the invitation pop-up.

The Lunch Works instant messenger facility also incorporates video and microphone technology so that you can talk, hear and see each other in real-time.

In order to use this feature you really do need to be on ADSL/Broadband.  Dial-up simply takes too long and will not work effectively.

Friends & Favourites is a place for you to store profiles of people you consider to be a friend (somebody you will make regular contact with through the site), or a potential favourite (someone you would be interested in dating/getting to know better).  Saving a profile to either area allows for easy access and retrieval when wanting to view them next time.

When accessing each one you will also get to see if a Friend or Favourite has blocked you or if they have been removed from the site (voluntary or otherwise).

Our featured members section is a dedicated area for us to display profiles.  When registering a profile and setting your Alerts & Preferences, we ask if you would allow us to promote your profile as a Featured Member.  It's a great way to drive more traffic to your profile listing.  If you have already registered with Lunch Works and want to change this setting, please go to your Alerts & Preferences.  To be a featured member you must have a main profile photo supporting your profile, and be willing to have your photo displayed in all our featued member areas on the site.

If it's happening at Lunch Works you can read all about it in our Noticeboard.  We have some useful and informative areas such as news, events, competitions, testimonials, coming soon and new affiliates.  It's also where you will find our rewards programme, providing information and details about the programme and how it works.   Go to the Noticeboard.

If you have some friends out there and would like to introduce them to our great new community, we can send them an email on your behalf and you can tell them in a message why you think they should visit us.  If any of your friends register a profile using the email addresses you provided, you will receive 3 Free Complete Membership Days for each friend as part of our rewards program.  Tell A Friend Now (Members only feature)

It's no good having a unique online idea like this unless you have taken care of the offline world too.  So we did!  Check out our Venue Guide for some great places and special offers.

For those venues wishing to drive their special discount offer and preferred listing further, we have dedicated Featured Venue areas throughout both our dating and venue guide communities to showcase and advertise their establishment to our members.

To help build our venue database with a range of preferred establishments around Australia, we ask our members to get in touch and tell us of any venue they would like to recommend for future listing on the site.  If we bring on board a venue that you recommended, then you will receive 3 Free Complete Membership Days as part of our rewards program.  Recommend A Venue Now (Members only feature)

Even though we try to be as comprehensive as possible in providing detailed, accurate and helpful information on the site for members and guests, we still encourage you to contact us if necessary.  Contact Us Now

Whilst we have put together some useful information for our members in relation to both online and offline dating, we also have some great tips and ideas for you when it comes to dating and safety in general.  Please refer our Dating Tips/Safety page.

There are 3 types of testimonials displayed on the Lunch Works website - the dating community, venue guide and individual venue testimonials.  Our dating community testimonials are displayed within the noticeboard and by accessing the Testimonials tab.  A link from the Venue Guide homepage will take you to our online venue guide testimonials.  As a member of Lunch Works, if you visit one of our preferred venues and have some good words to say about them, you can submit your own testimonial.  Simply find the listing of the establishment within the venue guide and click on the Add Venue Testimonial button. (Members only feature)

If Lunch Works publishes your dating or venue guide testimonial on the website, you will receive 7 Days Free Complete Membership as part of our Rewards Program.  Testimonials for preferred establishments in the Lunch Works Venue Guide entitle you to a further 3 Days Free Complete Membership if published as part of that venues preferred listing.

As a way of saying thank you to members who help Lunch Works build our online community, we have introduced a Rewards Program that offers Free Complete Membership days.  To find out more click here and then access the Rewards Program tab. (Members only feature)

Complaints

Our complaints process is as follows;

Fill out a Support Request Form - this can be found by clicking Contact Us.  Include as much detail as possible and submit.  We will act on your complaint as a matter of urgency, then inform you as to the outcome and any actions that may need to be taken.

We do not get involved in personal disputes between members, and encourage the use of the various tools on the website to deal with unwelcome communications. These include hiding one's profile and blocking a member.

If you believe a member is in breach of our terms and conditions or any of our site guidelines (eg. forums, profile, photos etc), please Contact Us and fill out the Support Request Form.

When using the Forum and viewing posted topics, there will be a Report Offending Posts link.  If you believe a posting has breached our guidelines, please click the above link and use the form to make your complaint.  We will let you know the outcome ASAP.  Otherwise Contact Us and inform Lunch Works of your complaint.
